view, and you were good enough to agree to telegraph to the

Hong Kong Government asking that notion be taken in the sense

desired. In view of the above communication I shall now be

grateful if Your Excellency will telegraph to the Hong à ̧ng

Government bespeaking for Mr. la their assistance in taking over

his work, and that you will favour me with a reply.
